Le Central is an affordable French restaurant in Capitol Hill since 1981. They serve specialities including black mussels & frites, frog legs, escargots, and pastries made in house.

The last Tuesday of every month, they offer a cooking demonstration by Le Central’s chefs. The third Tuesday of each month features a wine dinner and 5-course meal.

$9 Le Brie, L’Ail et Les Croutons – warm wedge of bried, roasted head of garlic & baguette crutons with tomatoes and basil

Basilic – fresh basil and diced tomatos
Provençale – parsley, pernod, topped with bread crumbs
Portugaise – spanish chorizo, tomatoes, pinch of coriander
A la Moutard – whole grain dijon mustard, bacon & cream
Marinière – parsley, white wine, shallots & garlic
Midi – olives, tomato, breadcrumbs & parmesan cheese
Normande – mushrooms, onions, brandy & cream
Safran (add $1) – cream, saffron, onion & chopped tomatoes
Fromage – blue cheese
